I am amazing!

Mom is finally back from her world-wind tour of the world (did I just repeat myself?).. and of course she went on vacation without me!! She left me home to fend for myself! Just kidding. My auntie took care of me while mama was gone. We had lots of fun. She fed me snausages, but I didn’t get to show her my trick because I was too busy eating the treats.

Gimme dat Snausage!

My mom taught me this trick a year ago and we haven’t been practicing it for a while, but I still remember it! I am so unbelievably awesome I can’t stand it! Actually I can stand it ’cause I love to stand. Isn’t that awesome? Aren’t I awesome? I love Snausages!

So cruel

Looking through old photos and I found one of me and the new trick I learned not too long ago. I think its a horrible and mean trick… holding food on my nose until mom tells me it’s ok to eat. Total torture! How do you expect me to hold still when there is a delightful Snausage on my face? I’d like to see you try that!

I go cross-eyed when I have a treat on my nose

Finally! Ma took a photo of me doing my new trick! Took her long enough! Well, I can’t really blame her. Every time the camera clicked, I thought that was my cue to eat the treat, so it was hard to get a good shot. And if the flash was about to go off, it was like TREAT TIME! for me. It took her several tries. I got so tired of it that I didn’t even want to wait anymore and I’d just eat the treat! Sorry, but I’m just a dog, standing in front of a mommy, asking for her to give me a treat!

yay for me!

Howdy! I am so awesome at my new trick! I can totally keep a treat on my nose and be still without making the treat fall before mom says it’s okay to eat! Even if that means keeping my head at a crazy angle so that the treat doesn’t fall off my nose.. I can do it! I. AM. AWESOME!!!!!!

I am so smart, I can do tricks (and read!)

So yesterday I said I had mommy totally trained, well, today she has me totally trained! I am finally able to do my dog trick! Mom puts a delicious treat on my nose, and instead of me moving my head or curling up my lips or twitching or going cross eyed (okay, I still go cross eyed), I am able to keep the treat on my nose until mom says it’s okay to eat! She likes to put me through torture when it comes to yummy treats, but I will do anything to make her happy because I wuv her to pieces!! And she wuvs me to pieces too! We wuv each other to pieces! Now if only I could stay frozen long enough for mom to snap a photo.. oh well, you can’t win ‘em all!

must.. move.. head!

Howdy! I’m getting a little better at my trick! Now instead of swinging my head away, I hold it somewhat still with my mom’s help. But once she takes away her hand, I move my head and the bone falls! I can’t help it, I just want to eat it nom nom nom! But then again, mom took a ton of photos of the bone on my nose, so after 20 shots, I got a little tired and wanted to just lay my head down. I’m much better with balancing a little treat on my nose, really I am!

Why would you want to torture this adorable face into waiting for a Snausage?

I’m trying to learn a new trick.. they say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, and I’m super old, so it’s near impossible to teach me anything new! I’m trying to learn how to balance a Snausage on my nose without inhaling it first. It’s really hard. All I want to do is eat it. Mom tries to get me to hold still as she puts it on my nose, but I just want to gobble that goodness up. I’ve gotten better.. I can resist eating it, but feeling that Snausage on top of my nose is just unnatural; I keep turning my head away and licking my lips as soon as the treat comes near my face. A few more tries later, I can now hold still with it on my nose (with the help of mom holding my head still!) but my mouth curls up to the side and twitches because I just can’t be this close to a Snausage and not devour it instantly! Oh well, maybe one day I can control myself from eating a Snausage within the first nanosecond.
