It’s Oakie!

The mowers came this morning before I was able to go out for my morning poo and pee. I think I scared them off with my ferocious barks and jumps. I saw them through the back yard window and I hooted and hollered and jumped and yapped my brains out. Mom thought I sounded so scary that she had to put me in my kennel, but that didn’t stop me. I kept barking. Yep, I totally scared them away. They left after the grass shrunk. That’ll teach them to mess with Oakie’s property!

Mom has been taking me on a lot of long walks lately. Today’s walk wasn’t longer than the others, but I could not finish and had to plop my butt down on the cement. It was just too hot to walk! Mom had to carry me half a mile home! And I am not the lightest dog either.. I’m a dense 18lbs! Poor mom, her arms are still sore I bet. But that’s okay, I still had fun sitting in her arms and drooling on them as she walked home in the hot sun.

Yes, I am still high on my birthday cake from 2 days ago. It’s so big that I’m still eating it. Mom made a ton, and there are extras in 2 other 9×12 pans! WOW! That’s a lot of meatloaf for me to finish! But I’m not complaining. I love it. I love mommy!

I had an awesome birthday yesterday. So awesome that today’s event had to be a downer. I went to the vet to get my annual checkup and shots. I HATE SHOTS! I was all excited about hopping in the car for a joyride, and then mama takes me to the vet?! Not cool! But I was a good boy. I didn’t fight the vet or pee on the table. I was so good that the vet gave me a special chewy treat! She said I was patient of the year! Pup of the year! That’s me! Oakie!!

It’s my birthday!!!! Mama slaved in the kitchen and made me a giant meatloaf cupcake! OMG OMG OMG OMG I wanted to eat it so badly when we were taking photos with it. I was all like, just hurry up already and lemme eat it!! It was sooo good. My mouth is still drooling! Happy birthday to me! I <3 mommy! xx, Oakie

Is it Thursday yet? I’m not excited about turning 10. Being old sucks. I can feel it in my bones. But I am very excited about what mama is getting me for my birthday! I wonder what she’s gonna feed me. I can’t wait!!

Happy Tuesday! I remember my Tuesdays not long ago. I’d sit on mama’s lap, and we’d watch LOST together. Sigh. Those days are gone. Hurley is gone. No more Sawyer and his awesome pecks. Wha? I mean, did I say that out loud? I mean, I don’t like his pecks! That’s so not straight of me! It’s mom! She’s influenced me! I like cats! I mean, I like girls! Dogs! Woof!

Monday. Bleh. Oh, Thursday, you can’t come soon enough. I can’t wait to see what kind of treats and goodies mom has in store for my birthday. It’d better be good this year, because last year she got me.. NOTHING! It was a total rip off. I can’t believe how rude she is. I guess it makes up for that big bag of nothing I got her for her birthday. But then again, my presence alone is gift enough! Duh!!

It is the beginning of a very exciting week. Yep yep. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ll know that it’s my birth week! I turn 10 on the 26th! Can you believe it? I’m so old! But I feel so young! But only sometimes. More times I am stretching my cranky joints and making old man noises when I move. But I can still play like a pup!

I love my toy Purple Guy with Big Feet. I think I’ve blogged about him before. He’s my best friend. Well, the best friend a rubber toy can be. He’s so fun to play catch with. He’s also fun to hold in my mouth because he’s got all these different grooves. He’s also really squeaky, and I love high-pitched squeaky toys! Oh, Purple Guy with Big Feet, I loves you!
